Hood College is home to 22 NCAA Division III athletic teams, as well as two club teams. Our student-athletes compete in the Middle Atlantic Conferences against schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This season has seen many challenges, including a significant number of weather delays and cancellations, but our teams are off to a great start!

The men’s lacrosse team, coached by Brad Barber, has won 6 of its first 9 games so far this season, many in a convincing fashion. The women’s lacrosse team has also performed well, winning about half of its games so far. Led by coach Molly Frazier, the team has also had the honor of having multiple players named Defensive Player of the Week for the MAC Commonwealth conference this season.

In addition to the success of both of our lacrosse teams, the softball team is off to a good start under the guidance of coach Terry Burdette. The team’s current record is 11-6, and junior Kayli Paugh (Elkridge, MD) has been named pitcher of the week by both the MAC Commonwealth conference and Fastpitch News.

Last year, more than 40 percent of our incoming class was made up of student-athletes. Hood is a great place for students who are interested in competing at a higher level of play but also want to maintain a strong focus on academics, and our campus community loves to cheer on our Hood College Blazers.
