It’s Yield Season!

April 1, 2016  |  Events

May 1 is quickly approaching, and as students are preparing for high school graduation and making their final college decisions, we’ve been busy with a number of events designed to help ease their decision and transition processes.

Over the past two weeks, many high schoolers around the country have been on spring break, so we added extra visit options each day. We’ve met with dozens of high school students and their families, and we’ve also welcomed school and church groups to campus for presentations and tours.

Because a large number of our admitted students are from Maryland, we have also been hosting admitted student receptions around the state so that prospective students can meet and mingle with each other as well as current students, admission staff, and Hood alumni. Most recently, we have hosted events in Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

This week, we’re gearing up for Admitted Students Day, our biggest event of the year. All students who have been accepted to Hood College are invited to campus on April 9 for a day filled with fun activities, mini-classes, student activity showcases, and the opportunity to meet other prospective members of the class of 2020. If you work with students who have been accepted to Hood College for the 2016-17 school year, please encourage them to sign up here! Admitted students also have the option of attending an evening experience on April 8, the night before Admitted Students Day, which will include dinner in the dining hall, a student leaders networking event, and a fun and interactive surprise activity!

For students who are not graduating this year, we also have a Spring Open House on April 30, which is geared primarily toward rising juniors and seniors. Attendees will be able to meet with professors from every department and talk to representatives from the athletic teams, Financial Aid, and more.

If you’d like to bring a group of students to visit Hood College (or have a student who’d like to visit our campus with their family), we encourage you to contact us at 301-696-3400 or at admission@hood.edu. We look forward to hearing from you!
